absence

i know i haven't posted in a little while, but i'm still alive here and fine in istanbul. a flurry of events have taken place, that weren't too exciting, though have kept me some what busy here on this side of the world. since we last spoke, i've added "Vitamin Water" to the list. to those who don't know, it's basically glorified watered down juice fortified with "vitamins", but oh so refreshing during hot summer days. but those days, i think, are over, as fall has refreshingly, ahem, fallen upon us.

Mini Istanbul - Sishane
with it brought some visitors (colin and selenne) who were here for a few days romp in istanbul, a recurring cold, an exploded kombi (hot water heater) that provided us with our own little tropical waterfall in the kitchen, a visit from the exterminator to exterminate some pesky bugs that kept biting during our sleep, an abbreviated and disappointing visit to the much-hyped Rock n' Coke annual music festival (i'm just too old i think!), and general summertime malaise.

things have started to pick up here, the end of summer, back to work/school for many, work coming in...always seems to happen in waves and each day is starting to get busier than the one before. which is a good thing. runway season has started and so has my work again for ELLE. another month shift of runway photo editing...it's great this same work can be done in an office in NY or in my living room in Istanbul. i'm also working on a website for someone (a C+P Partner in Craft!) and i'm so excited about it! we just finished first drafts, and it's really been fun and just what i needed to jump start my creative juices engine. (Sorry, I think my English writing skills are going downhill). i'll post a link when we're finished! and been working on another big update for CUT+PASTE which will be posted this week...and starting to make lists for holiday orders. :) :)

Mini Istanbul - Galata
still it feels like there is so much to do and so much more that needs to get done. i love summer but sometimes it feels like swimming in molasses. this evening's weather forecast calls for "Yagmur ve soguk hava geliyor"...which translated is "Rain and cold weather coming". And hopefully that's all I'll need for a head start this fall. I'm determined to make it happen!
