playing favorites

i've been kind of sheepish about posting here because i've been too lazy to create "real" posts (it's a lot of work! what with all the picture taking and writing!) but i promise, this will be one of the last "empty" posts before i get my butt in gear.

the last few weeks have brought rain rain rain and us busy getting our home in order to prepare for the inevitable winter hibernation. we made a trip (actually two, we ran out of paint) to Koc Tas (Turkey's equivalent to Home Depot) for paint and painted the three rooms in a whirlwind of two days. another trip to IKEA for much needed essential furniture (a bed and a ncie big work table for me!). i'm finally starting to feel settled and getting to be more productive. i've even got myself a sewing machine!

instead of posting photos, i've been surfing flickr a lot and compiled my "favorites" into a mosaic quilt. i took a lot of inspiration from this for the paint colors and slowly for the rest of the house. it makes me so happy to look at this veritable quilt of color.

promising more photos of turkey and our home (finally) this weekend so stay tuned!

also, i'll making a trip back to the states! i'll be in NY on Oct 3-7, 19-21 and in CA on Oct 7-19 with dear Lola in tow. i'll be helping out Diana with all the holiday inventory coming in and stocking up on American junk food to bring back. maybe i'll see some of you then? hope so!
