new things

Today I did two things I thought I would never do:

1) I went to the mall and bought a pair of pink sweatpants. Yes, for myself.

2) I won not one, but two (at the same time), stuffed dolls from a claw vending machine on the way home from the mall.

I am happy to see new posts! And I LOVE your new blog look. Pink sweatpants are not a crime, they are nearly a necessity in Turkey, what with all those neighborly calls for tea... one wouldn't want to be caught wearing non-pajama casual wear like jeans or black pants. Sweatpants are a must!

Love the blog, especially the photos! I was doing research for my upcoming trip to Istanbul (I leave Friday!) and came upon your Istanbul site. I've been a fan of CUT+PASTE for a while, and it's so cool to see Istanbul through your perspective.

Any tips for another Asian girl obsessed with crafts and pretty things? Places I must check out? (Incidentally, the specific research I was doing was whether there's a Chinatown in Istanbul. Is there? I like to collect Chinatowns when I travel.)
